Sed del territorio: Escasez y resistencia is an ongoing photographic investigation into water and its unequal presence across Sonora.
Through landscapes, communities, infrastructure, and everyday experiences, the project examines drought, access to water, diversion, contamination, and the transformations these processes leave on the territory. It follows water not only through its absence, but through the systems and decisions that determine where it flows, who can access it, and what happens when it disappears.
Alongside scarcity and environmental damage, the project looks at the ways communities respond, adapt, organize, and defend their relationship with water and territory. The work approaches the current water crisis not as a single event, but as a network of environmental, social, and political relationships that continues to reshape life in the region.
